Excellent stay very comfortable. Very friendly welcome, great breakfast! Ideal stopover for ferries to Ireland we will be back.

My wife and I had pleasant stay in a lovely room overlooking the harbour it was clean it had all the facilities and a dram of malt to welcome us.We were asked what we wanted for breakfast and it was excellent.We highly recommend the Harbour Lights.

Lovely stay. Welcoming dram of whisky brought to our room when we arrived. Comfy bed, warm shower and amazing breakfast with lots of fresh fruit and hot breakfast cooked to order. Perfect and look forward to staying again

We received a warm welcome from our hosts from booking until the end of our stay. Check in was easy and security at the hotel is good. Our room was large and spacious with a separate room with another single bed, which would have been useful for a small family. The views from the front and back windows were lovely ( seafront and large back garden). There were biscuits, chocolates, water and tea and coffee in the room, with fresh milk and a wee dram of whiskey also on offer. The accommodation was spotless. Breakfast was included in the price with lots of choice and ample size portions.We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at harbour lights and our visit to Stranraer and portpatrick

The reception was very good, even though I was running late.The room was excellent, very comfortable I’d recommend staying here.

We had 3 scrupulously clean rooms. Our ferry booking was cancelled the day before and we had to rebook for 7am ferry and as we had paid for breakfast owners kindly made up breakfast bags for us. They were fun and welcome on the ferry and pretty sure the pancakes were home made

Rhona is an excellent hostess. Our rooms were immaculate. Very comfortable beds. Shower spacious & efficient. Breakfast delicious. Recommend highly.

We were met very cheerfully on arrival and hubby enthusiastically accepted the offer of a malt whisky. The twin room is on the ground floor so convenient for those who find stairs a bit tricky. It had everything we needed, fully stocked coffee, tea and not chocolate as well as fresh milkin a flask and bottled water. Thebedroom was very clean and the beds comfortable ensuring a good night sleep. Breakfast was pre ordered the night before and was lovely.A selection of Home made jam and marmalade definitely a bonus.(brought some home). The Harbour Lights is a charming home from home which we would highly recommend.

We stayed at the guesthouse to catch the ferry the next day. The accommodation and welcome was fabulous. The little extra touches in the room were well appreciated. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

The positives were the price (very reasonable), the room (clean and well appointed), the breakfast (delicious and good quality and the service (friendly and helpful. The only down side - and not anything the owners can affect - is the noisy road it is on. Cars with loud exhausts up and down most of the night made for a broken sleep, we do however live in a quiet area so perhaps just unused to it.

The home is very good sat on the sea front the owners were very welcoming and made you feel welcome and breakfast was everything you would want with plenty of choices

Without doubt the best guesthouse I have ever stayed in. The room was large, bright and spotless and had everything you might need. Breakfast was delicious and freshly made. The homemade jams were really good.

We had a very comfortable stay at this B&B. The hosts were welcoming and provided a great service all round. The room and facilities were all we could wish for and the breakfast was ample with a great choice on offer. We would book this accommodation in future without any hesitation.

What a wonderful find this guest house is! Easy to find and loads of parking, with a very warm welcome from the owners. The room was impeccably clean and tidy and had a view over the harbour. Breakfast choices are very varied and the food was perfectly cooked and presented! I cannot recommend this highly enough! We will be back!!

We are in our 60s and experienced world travellers. Booked this place on spec, partly because ample [free] parking in the large long-stay opposite. What a find! Tastefully decorated, large room and spacious ensuite. Tasty breakfast. Friendly local hosts. Excellent value for money. Our only regret is that we weren't able to stay for a second night due to existing commitments. 10 out of 10.

First of all such a lovely friendly welcome.We were offered a tot of whisky but had to refuse as we don’t like it, but what a kind offer.Room facing harbour on ground floor very clean.Tea.coffee etc provided with water and biscuits.Ours twin bedded with nice clean bedding..plenty of hangersand drawers for clothes .Big tv 📺.large walk in shower.Very nice .good quality shower gel,shampoo,hand gel and both cream provided.Anything we needed replenishing was offered…so nice.Good info for other places to eat in town too.The breakfast was so varied and exceptional.We couldn’t fault a thing there as it was such a lovely perfect place to stay..just watch yourself on in the inner glass door thou as I thought I had broke my nose on walking into it the first night

Harbour Lights Guest House can't be faulted.We only stayed one night prior to our ferry to Belfast - it is so close to the ferry terminals.The room was spotless and overlooked the harbour.The roomy shower was very nice. There is ample parking right outside the hotel.As we had an early ferry, we unfortunately couldn't sample the breakfast.

This guest house is well located with easy parking looking out towards Stranraer marina. The welcome by the owners was excellent with help getting luggage to the room and a treat of a glass of malt.Our room had a good view, was very well equipped with a large airy feel. The large bed was very comfortable. Our stay was completed be an excellent breakfast. All in all a first class experience.

A small boutique hotel in a trendy part of Dublin - right next to a canal! Easy walking access to the Dublin sights. We did not use the car ( there is free parking ) - just walked. Our room was in the ground floor which was great for us oldies! Very friendly staff that were keen to respond to any questions!Ideal for a few days!

We were looking for a comfortable stop over before catching the next day ferry from Cairnryan. Bot, did we find it at Harbour Lights. Welcoming and convenient. The en suite room was well appointed and very comfortable with everything nessary for a short or even long stay traveller. Gandy location with plenty of free parking and probably the best thing as the super breakfast choices. Cannot fault it and at a great price too. I hope we will get another chance to visit you.

Stayed at Colin & Rhonas place for 1 night before catching the ferry next morning. Bedroom was very clean and comfortable,toiletries all good quality. Breakfast was amazing with lots of choices, we enjoyed our stay so much.

Hi, We had a very nice time at this B&B. We were welcomed upon our arrival, the room is nice a very clean. The owner had offered us a delicious Vegan breakfast at our request. We 100% recommend this place to anyone.

Very comfortable, quiet, well run guest house, worked well for getting the morning ferry to Larne, after a long drive up the previous day. We also stayed on the way back, and had time for the delicious brekfast.Parking directly outside, and 5 minute walk to Tesco and a very good fish and chips take-away.Harbour Lights is excellent value for money.

Stayed just the one night before a ferry crossing but a lovely welcome together with a wee dram (medicinal reasons of course). Bedroom view across the harbour and a nice waterside walk, plenty of parking, pubs close by for evening meal and finally a breakfast that set us up for the rest of the day! Nice price.

Lovely room with a fine view across the park to Lough Ryan and beyond. The room was clean and very comfortable. Plenty of options for breakfast. Colin and Rhona could not have been more pleasant, welcomimg and accommodating. Highly recommend this establishment if you happen to be in the Stranraer area.

Lovely room. Great location for Parkrun, there is so much to see and do around Stranraer. We will definitely have to go back. After the drive down, getting a welome 'half' was also a nice touch. Parking is also easily available.

We had a fantastic time in this bed and breakfast. The room was clean, warm and cosy. We received some Scottish whiskey upon the arrival which was a nice gesture. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, best pancakes I have eaten! I highly recommend this place, you won't be disappointed.

I don’t have cause to visit Stranraer often, which is a shame as Harbour Lights is an excellent place to stay. My room was lovely and spotlessly clean. The fair had come to town on the night of my visit, so I expected some noise for much of the evening, but even though my room faced the rides and stalls, the sound insulation is so good, I could here nothing.Proprietor Rhona was friendly and most helpful and I would have no hesitation in highly recommending this excellent little guesthouse. I’m now trying to think of reasons to be in Stranraer again!

From the onset with adequate parking right in front of the establishment I was impressed with the exterior décor and scenery. I was met by the friendly host Colin, who took me up to my well presented and clean room. I was offered a complimentary whisky, which I welcomed as it brought a nice end to my 8 hour drive. There is free WIFI and I could quickly catch up with some emails, and check my travel itinerary at the desk in the room. Bed was very comfortable and I had a good night's sleep. Bathroom is big and clean, I would however say the water pressure in the shower was a bit weak and having such a big shower it wouldve been superb if it was a power shower.I really enjoyed my stay even though it was short. I could see myself returning with my family and stay there for a longer period to enjoy the local scenery and attractions.

Me and my wife had a great stay at Harbour Lights Guest House. The room had a fantastic view over Loch Ryan, was spotless clean on arrival as was all the hotel. We were met by Colin as soon as we arrived and took our cases straight to our room, I dont think we could have picked a better hotel in the whole of Stranraer or surrounding area. Rhona & Colin are Fantastic hosts, and made us feel right at home from the start. the breakfasts were superb and plenty of choice. A great base for exploing the Galloway area (a lot of lovely places to visit). We were so glad we found this little gem, would deffinately stay here again, and would highly recomend it to anyone wishing to visit Scotland.Once again a big thanks Rhona & Colin for making our stay a fabulous one.Keith & Rita.

Hosts were very welcoming, me and a friend and parents stayed before our ferry in the morning and the hosts couldn’t have been more helpful. Tea/Coffee offered on arrival along with a whisky if thats up your street. Couldn’t recommend them enough.

A very relaxed stay in this well located property where the hosts could not do enough for us. The room was spaciousand very comfortable. Due to Covid we had to get a takeaway and our hosts kindly provided crockery and cutlery for us. The breakfast choice was fabulous and we would highly recommend this property.

Two couples spent an overnight stay at Harbour Lights and can highly recommend this Guest House. On arrival, we were warmly welcomed by Colin who took us to our rooms and explained thoroughly the house rules. In the morning we enjoyed a lovely breakfast made by Rhona....delicious!We all enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this establishment.

The hospitality, room and breakfast was very good. The only criticism was the poor power of the shower, which the owner said they recognised as an issue. However, overall goodvalue for money.

Recommend harbour lights to anyone a very pleasant experience

Spent one night at Harbour Lights and it was delightful. Slept like a log, had a wonderful breakfast and had a most enjoyable conversation with the couple who own the place. On their recommendation I visited a local garden and can safely say it was one of the nicest gardens I have seen. Splendid walks and views over the sea. Everything you can ask for in a good B and B.

As we were greeted at the front four our stay was a delight. The accommodation was perfect. Our room had everything we needed . The complimentary dramof whiskey was a thoughtful gesture and breakfast was extremely satisfying and very good value.

Rooms cleaned daily with large bed and en-suitebreakfast offered for a very small amount with excellent selection that was definitely value for money. The owners were very friendly and welcoming engaging with all occupants.We chose this location for a quiet get away and that’s exactly what we got, beautiful scenery and breathtaking coastal views and nice quite drives, I would recommend that you had transport to be able to get out .in the room is a folder with all the places you could eat and visitor you could do what we did and just drive thequiet roads . This is definitely a place if you want to kick back relax and do not want to be bothered with major traffic loads of tourists because quite retreat quiet roads is what you will get.

We've just spent a couple of nights in this friendly and comfy place on the Loch front in Stranraer. The room was clean and everything worked as it should. The breakfasts were lovely and there was plenty of food. If we go back to this area, we'll definitely stay here again.

My boyfriend and I arrived on the last ferry from Belfast, and it was no trouble at all for Colin, who is one of the owners of Harbour Lights, to keep reception open longer for us which we were very grateful for. The building is lovely and the rooms are clean and welcoming, Colin and Rhona his wife left us a little dram in the room for arriving and lots of lovely extras were included such as cotton pads and a comb in a beauty box that had been prepared in the bathroom. The bed was the comfiest I’ve slept in in a long time and I had a wonderful sleep! We wanted a long lie so never went for the breakfast option but I’ve heard it’s lovely! I couldn’t fault anything.

We stayed at this wonderful B and B the night before catching the ferry to NI.Spotlessly clean, comfortable bed, delicious homemade buttermilk pancakes for me and full breakfast for my husband, both superb.The owners were friendly and could not do enough for us.The ferry was 10 mins drive away.Will definitely be staying again.

Was helped with my bag on arrival and shown to my room. Everything was spotless. Felt spoilt having a large spacious room and en suite. Had an amazing nights sleep in an extremely comfortable bed. Room facilities were spot on. Linen had gorgeous fresh clean smell to it. Hosts were friendly and made me feel very welcome. I enjoyed a breakfast of scrambled egg and smoked salmon on toast. We booked a room for one night before getting an early ferry to Belfast. We got parked right outside the guest house. The owner was very welcoming and showed us to our room. Our twin room was lovely - very comfortable beds and good bedding, a lovely tea and coffee tray with biscuits, a variety of hot drinks and bottled water. The bathroom had toiletries and cotton pads etc. We left early to catch our boat so didn't have the breakfast. But I would highly recommend staying here - very easy to find, extremely comfortable and exceeded our expectations. Would stay here again.

We stayed at Harbour Lights for one night on 6/8/16 and were delighted with the place.Our room was huge, very tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean.The proprietors were very friendly and the breakfast was plentiful, with a variety of choice for everyone.We would highly recommend it and would definitely stay here again.

Stop over prior to catching late morning ferry to Belfast. The Harbour Lights is a truly delightful place to stay, Rhona & Colin are first class their establishment is spotless, well appointed our room no.2 was large with a spacious en-suite views across public car park to the loch. Beware, the breakfasts are not for the faint hearted it will last you most of the day! Car parking is no problem a few spaces in front of the building otherwise across in the public car park which is free. This establishment is one of the best we have stayed in, we would highly recommend it.

I would highly recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone.The rooms were really clean and comfortable and the hosts went out of their way to be helpful.Even going so far as putting together a packed lunch for us as we were out for the day at the Ladies Golf Open Championship.Definitely stay again!

My mum and myself stayed here our first 3 nights of our visit to Scotland. Words cannot express how lovely it was! Rhona and Colin are thee most lovely hosts. It was very hard to leave and move on to the rest of our trip as we did not want to leave them. The room was warm and comforting, the breakfeast was as lovely as was the view. Very easy to find and lots of free parking across the street, which was woderful for us first-timers to the UK. We highly recommend staying here!!

The Harbour Lights Guest House is a very welcoming bed and breakfast in Stranraer. the bedrooms are warm and comfortable- really a home away from home. the little touches like the wee chocolate and bottle of water which were left as well as the tea and coffee, and the fresh jug of milk brought up to my room for my coffee were welcoming and thoughtful. the ensuite bathrooms are immaculate. the owners are very welcoming and make you feel as if it was a pleasure having you to visit. would definitely stay there again.

What a marvelous Guest House. So clean and beautiful. My favourite accomodation for the entire month travelling.Absolutely fantastic bath tub and even better pricing. Collin and Rhona couldn't have been nicer. Great breakfast. If your travelling Scotland it is a must stay place. Just loved it.

Made very welcome at the harbour lights guest house. Fabulous breakfast and a very comfortable room facing the sea. The landlady was most helpful when we both got soaked when out with our grand children and she managed to dry off my light jacket which was most welcome. A very good value place to stay. Very friendly hospitable couple.

Another great one night stay at Harbour Lights prior to catching our early ferry to Ireland.We were well looked after!

This ticks all the boxes - welcoming, clean, safe, comfortable. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. The location is perfect for anything you might be doing in Stranraer with the bonus of a free car park directly across the road.

We had the pleasure of staying in this guest house for one night only.Service was faultless as was the room, the owners and the breakfast - which was quite a feast.Would not hesitate to go back again and would be my first choice if needing to stay in Stranraer.

arrived on a cold very windy night after a long drive to receive a very pleasant welcome. Our room was immaculately clean, warm and comfortable.I wanted the kippers but thought it would not substansive enough for the next day's travel. Sorry I made that choice as someone on another table had a massive fish. But hey! the standard breakfast was just great.I would thoroughly recommend this B&BThank you for a pleasant stay

Thus is the third or fourth time we have stayed here. No need to look for another B&B in Stranraer. Harbour Lights is the best; nothing too much trouble and the best breakfast anywhere.

Really a perfect B&B experience, so long as you can manage fairly steep stairs (one ground floor room available). Comfortable, clean, friendly, great breakfast, easy parking , cheap - great place to stay!

Excellant accomodation, great value for money

My second visit to 7 Agnew Crescent and it was a nice experience to go back and stay the night as guests of Rhona and Colin who now run the B&B and turned out to be very courteous and friendly, they went out of their way to make us feel at home, the service was first class with a homely personal touch, would love to return there in the very near future.

My and partner and daughter only stayed one night at harbour lights. My partner commented on how clean it was or attention to detail as she put it family room was well put together even having a baby changing table which was a nice to see even thought our daughter is just out of nappy's. Was greeted friendly upon arrival and staff/owners were very polite at all times. Breakfast was great too freshly cooked and plenty of choice. Thanks for pleasant stay.

Had a lovely stay here with Rhona and Colin who were exceptionally nice hosts. As we were going on a day trip to Ireland they made us a breakfast tray which had cereals, orange juice, cereal bars and pancakes on it. The full breakfast was delicious, one of the best I have ever tasted with plenty of cereal, juice, yoghurt etc before either a full cooked, scrambled/poached eggs, bagels or kippers, who could ask for more! Our beds were very comfy and our family room was clean spacious with a great sized ensuite well big enough for a family of four. The bedding and towels had a lovely fresh smell. I would recommend this guest house to anyone needing accommodation in this area, I for one hope to go again.

Booked one night at Harbour Lights but ended up staying two. Great location on the water and walking distance to the High Street. Delicious breakfast, reasonably quick internet and very nice, comfortable and clean rooms. Really liked the family room on the top floor with the large window and seating area. A lovely guest house, we stayed in the family room which was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We received a warm welcome on our arrival. Breakfast was excellant, well cooked, best poached eggs just how I like them. Will definately stay again next time we are in Stranraer.

I am full of praise for the Harbour Lights Guest House.The rooms were fresh, clean, nicely furbished and well kitted out for all your needs. Our rooms had views over the harbour, but were not noisy, despite facing the road. The breakfast was excellent - the boys opting for the full breakfast and I had pre ordered smoked salmon and cream cheese bagels the night before. Couldn't resist the porridge beforehand and loved the home-made jams and marmalades. Proprietors were friendly and welcoming without being overly fussy.

Top marks for everything. Value/cleanliness/room/ breakfast/hosts/ view etc etc etc. Just go and try it, you will not be disappointed!

Traveled to Stranraer from Florida for genealogy.Spent 3 nights in twin room on top floor.Spacious room, huge bathroom, great view, and absolutely the cleanest room (hotel or BB) I've ever stayed in.Hosts very helpful with anything I needed (info, map, taxis, etc).Definitely recommend!

My teenage son has a school project on coastlines so we took a long weekend break at the Harbour Lights and could not fault itfrom the moment we crossed the threshold to checking out this morning.Great hosts, beautiful room overlooking the harbour, great foodworth everyone of the 5 stars i have given it

I have just returned from a two night stay at harbour lights.What a really really lovely place.After a warm welcome and a help up with out bags we got settled into our room. And very nice it was too, spotlessly clean and a view over the loch.Amble room and a really good layout for a family room.Also provided with amble refreshments for all the party including the picky 4 year old!! Breakfast was great as well and all tastes and preferences were catered for.Overall a really lovely place to stay and I shall certainly be recommending it to my friends and will be staying again next time we are in the area.Thank you for a lovely stay.

What a great B&B! Excellent from start to finish. A really warm welcome by friendly and helpful hosts, an immaculately clean and spacious room with a comfortable bed and good sized bathroom. The breakfast was brilliant! I had local kippers which were superb, whilst my partner had a 'full Scottish', which was perfectly cooked and included haggis and potato scone. Parking free on the street outside. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay, well worth the price and highly recommended.

me and ny boyfriend stayed here for one night as we had a wedding to go to and the bnb was really nice, it was very clean and the room was spaceous and the owners were both lovely, we had a lovely breakfast in the morning with choice and cereal,fruit, cakes me and am my bf was very happy and with definetly be returning again

A very pleasant stay in a big bedroom for three. A delicious breakfast : the best salmon ever tasted ! A friendly welcome ! The view from the room is not terrible unfortunately.

If you are expecting to be exhausted coming off the boat and want to know there is a comfy bed and a warm welcome waiting for you, this is the place! All email questions I asked before arrival were responded to promptly and I was made very welcome straight away. My twin room at the top of the building was warm and very spacious with a lovely clean bathroom. I barely heard a peep from the other guests. Breakfast was hot and expertly cooked, particularly the eggs which are usually rubber in hotels. I have already made enquiries to stay again on my way back to the ferry.

We stayed at this B&B for one night, but to be honest I wish we could have stayed longer. Great nights sleep, great view of the harbor, spotlessly clean and last but no means least a very hearty and delicious breakfast. I would recommend this B&B to anyone.

We had a really big family room overlooking the harbour. It was spotlessly clean with thoughtful little extras such as juice for the kids. Breakfast was delicious with an impressive choice and Rhona and Colin could not have been more welcoming and helpful.

Colin & Rhona are such a lovely friendly couple and we felt so at home there.Our room had lovely ocean views and everything was spotlessly clean and the decor was so tasteful. There was free wi fi and free parking,and a cooked breakfast to die for.What more could anyone want?
